Windows 10: Win 11 Pro after Update or after an install of driver not properly working

Hey folks,Everytime I update windows or install any driver e.x. directX my pc will boot into the lockscreen, then I can log in and I land as expected on the home screen. The problem now is I can't open any programs except the file explorer and neither this is working. I can not even open the terminal via "goto" or cannot open the start menu. Then I have to hard reset my pc! The only workaround I found is recover from a system image. But the solutions lasts only 2 maybe 3 reboots. I also made a fresh install of windows and it lasted maybe 2 weeks without problems. Have anybody a clue what's g

Clean install of win 11 pro

I have a laptop running with a digital licence for Win10 Pro. The laptop originally came with Win 10 home but I upgraded to win 10 pro using a key from a win 7 ultimate dvd.

Windows update tells me I can update to win 11 pro from my present install and acquire a digital licence from MS.

My potential issue after doing so would be, if I wanted to do a clean Win 11 Pro install after getting the digital licence (for win11 pro) I suspect the install would read the bios key and install Win 11 home and not Pro. Apparently Win 7 keys are no longer valid for the Win 10 and 11 upgrades.

My question then becomes what steps do I follow to do a clean Win11 Pro install on this laptop bearing in mind the system came with Win10 Home.

If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage

 

Updating Win 11 to pro from a disabled PC

It was bought separately as Win 7 and then updated to 10. If I go back to Win 10 OEM, could I update that to pro and then upgrade to Win 11? They are both listed in my Microsoft account.
