Windows 10: Win 11 questions

I have been having problems with my Windows 11 installation on a desktop computer.I use Chrome as a browser and it seems to freeze up quite. I know this is not a Microsoft productbut I'm wondering if the networking part of Windows 11 might be having some problems.I ran a free diagnostic that comes from McAfee called tech check. Its results say I have nine major networking problemsand to major system problems. I tried to contact McAfee to see if they could tell me what these issues are.The only thing they will do is offer to fix or quite a large payment. I'm pretty sure these problems are notvi

I would suggest you feel free to search this forum and use it as a library - a resource- with due caution in case what you find is only partially applicable or not at all, but ask questions first on elevenforum. Certain issues will be substantially common to both of course, but Win 11 is evolving and aspects differ,

To see if your Windows 10 computer is compatible with Windows 11, follow these steps:

1. Open Settings by pressing "Win + I" on your keyboard.
   
2. Press the option "Update and Security"
   

Windows will tell you if your computer is compatible.





If your computer is not compatible ensure 'TPM2.0' is enabled in your BIOS. To enable this is different for every manufacturer so I will not list the steps here.

 

Trying to connect to a printer that is physically on a Win 10 computer from a Win 11 computer to no avail.

1. Make sure that the printer is shared on the Win 10 computer. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “Share this printer” in the Sharing tab.
   
2. Ensure that the printer is visible to other devices on the network. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “List in the directory” in the Sharing tab.
   
3. Try disabling any firewalls or antivirus software temporarily on both the Win 10 and Win 11 computers to see if that resolves the issue.
   
4. Check if the printer is compatible with Windows 11. You can check the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers and software for your printer.
   
5. Try connecting the printer to a different USB port on the Win 10 computer.
   
6. If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings and then setting it up again.
