  1. Win 11 - Tiny text at top of screen, all icons and popups

Very, very long story short - Same laptop for several years - came with Win 11 installed - no problems before 3 week ago.Now have VERY TINY TEXT AND ICONS at top of screen and all popups.Have spent over 7 hrs and 9 different tech people - 4 of which came into my computer - and problem not solved. I have all the "case numbers".As noted, they spent over 7 hrs looking at everything on my computer - repeatedly changed "text size" and "scale", dozens of times - nothing.By changing scale to 200 can make top of screen back to normal size BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS HUGE - UNUSABLE. Popups still tiny.I R

  2. Please Help Stop Win 11 Taskbar Popups Before I Go Insane

With respect, you didn't understand my post. The problem is not with Start 11 (not "star 11") - that app fixes most of the mess Microsoft made with the Win 11 Taskbar - the problem is with the Win 11 Taskbar itself. The pops up are a FEATURE of the new Taskbar, not a bug. So it's not a clean boot issue. The pop ups were there before I started using Start 11, and were just as annoying and counter productive. So it's the programing of Win 11 Taskbar that is the issue. I need to know if there is a fix to make the pop ups stop appearing. Let me explain again to be clear:

When my mouse cursor hovers over or near my task bar icons, small popup windows appear above the taskbar, covering about a quarter of my screen. The popups are tiny versions of what the full windows would be if I selected those icons and expanded them. They either go away in a few seconds or stay popped up AND BLOCKING MY SCREEN for 10 seconds or more. They are an annoying feature of the new taskbar.

I hope that explains it better. I don't know how to make a video of this even if I wanted to, which I don't. I would assume the same things happens to everyone with Win 11- so you can simply hover your mouse over your taskbar icons and watch the popups appear. If it is JUST me, then that's another issue. But I can't imagine I'm the only one of millions of Win 11 users who experience this feature. Thanks.

  3. Annoying audio popup in top left corner of screen for Audible

I tried both versions of HideVolumeOSD.

The behavior I'm seeing is so pathological that I begin to suspect that maybe I have a virus.

    In particular:

    • Even when the large audio volume popup goes away, a smaller version lingers and won't go away.
    • When the popup appears, it pushes the volume down to zero. If I raise the volume again, it pushes it back down to zero.
    • Windows sometimes get stuck in the task bar and when I hover over the icon of a running app, instead of displaying the app in a tiny window above the task bar as usual, I get flashes of the little window and I am unable to maximize minimized apps that are stuck in this way.

Win 11 - Tiny text at top of screen, all icons and popups

    Tiny, Tiny Text

Hi. I'm running Windows 10, the newest iteration. All of a sudden yesterday a lot of text was so small I could barely read it. Web pages are ok except for Firefox new page text under the most used and sponsored links. Task bar and task tray apps are small when you right click, Desktop icons are correct size, but the titles again are tiny. File Explorer text is also small. Title bars and browser url area and menus are tiny. Office apps seem ok. I have tested for corrupt files in the cmd window and it did find one, checked the disk, ran a full virus scan etc. I tried to restore from before the last update, but it didn't work and is saying something about the iCloud Photos folder under my users folder, and I was not able to delete it manually, although I have doubts that would have anything to do with it. I have a 4k monitor and have always set the display at 225%. If I raise it then the text is still small and everything else is too large. If I move the text slider, it doesn't do anything to the small text. Any ideas? I'm trying to avoid having to do a refresh. I'm a senior and have trouble reading the tiny text, its straining my eyes. PC is a 6th gen i7 with 16 gb ram. Thanks for any help in advance.

  10. Tiny icons in Start screen tiles

Tiny icons in Start screen tiles: I was trying to figure out why the Start screen looked odd--and then I noticed the app icons in the tiles are about 1/3 the size they were in Windows 8, so you've got (for example), a tiny W for Word in Windows 10 vs a more visible W in Windows 8.1. Only appears to apply to...
