    Win 11 total disaster

Windows 11 has been an absolute disaster for me ever since the day I decided to install it. Today Windows broke my wifi module with an update and I can't take this anymore. If this trajectory continues I promise you I will spend countless hours of time and money into learning Linux and ditching Windows for good.Installation:What happened to the gigachad Microsoft that allowed you to install any Win OS in three clicks? I distinctively remember all I had to do was create partitions, format the drive and click install. It was easy, user friendly and respectful of the consumer. In my most recent

Win 10 upgrade is a total disaster!!!

I started my upgrade from Win 7 professional last night. It took me about 75 minutes to finish the installation process. While I thought it was great that I can get to try Win 10 as Microsoft's most important release and expect a smooth user experience than
    ever, I was totally wrong.

The Window 10 upgrade is certainly the worse ever experience I have ever had. First the screen flashes so either mouse or keyboard wouldn't work. Then after I rebooted my laptop, I cannot log in again. After a few re-installations, now Win10 even cannot
    finish rebooting.

However, this has not finished. Apparently a lot of other users are suffering MS' product now, maybe mainly from Win 10 upgrade. If I seek for Technical Support, "to schedule a call" has no empty slot now; "call me back as soon as possible" first showed
171 minutes, and now it shows 267 minutes. I cannot think of any company would treat its user like this.

It is sad to release a poorly designed product like Win 10. But it is ok if you can support it well. The disaster of MS is actually that MS releases a poor product and cannot support it well. I have been a PC user for 24 years, and this really forced me
to buy a Macbook this afternoon.

  3. Windows 11 disaster.

I purchased my first PC in 1975. Made by Texas Instruments. It was dos base system that operated on a caste tape drive. I have had a personal PC ever since. Windows 10 was a good operating system. not great yet good. After a Dell tech totally screwed up my windows 10 PC I decided to purchase my final PC. At my age it will probably be my last PC. Windows 11 system is a disaster. Microsoft, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING! I have seen more system errors in Windows 11 then I have seen in all of my PC'S in the last 48 years. Windows 11 is a disaster! If I ever purchase a replacement PC it will not be with a Microsoft operating system. Microsoft owes all of the people that purchased this Windows 11 junk an apology. I along with all Windows 11 users are waiting for a total update from Microsoft to return Windows 11 system back to a Windows 10 operating system. Oh, by the way we are noy just asking for a return to a windows 10 system we are DEMANDING IT!

Win 10 upgrade is a total disaster!!!

    See my other post.

Sorry to hear you (like me) have found Windows 10 a total disaster). I know this is like bolting the stable door after the horse has gone, but if you ever manage to get back to a working version invest in 2 things - a copy of Acronis or Nortons Ghost or
Paragon drive back up or something similar. Also a 500gb-1tb external drive. make a drive image copy of the working system BEFORE any upgrade.

I would suggest that if you can get to file explorer you make a back up of all your data and personal files to an external drive (they are very cheap these days a 500gb is around £35-40 and 1 tb 50-60)

Better still to be on the safe side do a total drive backup of the faulty windows 10 install - that way you can get back to it if needed and esp to any of your files

Now with your problem - did your laptop have a restore option? Some have a hidden partition that contains files to restore it to the as-bought windows installation. It would bring back your data or installed programs but will enable you to start again from
    scratch.

Sometimes (depending on make) there is an option to do a factory restore. My Samsung laptop has this - although in fact I did a drive image cvopy of those hidden restore partitions onto an external drive (using Acronis) for safekeeping.

Earlier Windows upgrades gave the option of keeping your old Windows files in a hidden folder called Windows.old. I have a horrible feeling Microsoft in their confidence that Windows 10 would work 100% all the time have done away with that but I could be
wrong. I cant check as I have wiped out my non-functioning- time -wasting Windows 10 rubbish install and using a memory stick with Aconis and a backup I did a week ago of the entire drive C cleared out Windows 10 and got back to my trusty, functioning Windows
7 within 30 mins - after wasting almost 2 days trying to get Windows 10 to even start properly!
