Windows 10: Win 22H2 serial driver issue

I need some ideas to fix this most likely OS/Chipset related issueOS: Windows 10 x64 22H2 19045.3570Device: Occuring tested on Notebooks with Intel Core 11th & 12th Gen ChipsetsDriver: Prolific v207 & 300Yes I am using an USB-Hub, but even if I connect just one USB-RS232 Adapter directly to the Laptop the same problem occurs.Device Status: Code 39 / path %hs not foundUninstalling/reinstalling the drivers had no effect tooThis affects by the way not only Prolific, but all known to me USB-RS232 Adapters.System Recovery seems to be to only fix at the moment, but the problem will occur

Serial to usb driver

Yes, you may need to install a serial to USB driver on your computer in order for it to recognize the device. Here are some steps that may help:

• Make sure that the serial to USB cable is connected properly between the modbus slave device and your computer.
  
• Go to the website of the manufacturer of the cable and look for the driver download page. Download the driver that corresponds to your operating system.
  
• Once the driver is downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• After the installation is complete, restart your computer.
  
• Open Device Manager by searching for it in the Start Menu.
  
• Look for the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section and expand it.
  
• Your serial to USB device should be listed here with a COM port number assigned to it.
  

If you do not see the device listed after installing the driver, try unplugging and plugging the cable back in or using a different USB port on your computer. If the problem persists, contact the manufacturer of the cable for further assistance.

Windows 10 serial on OEM


So I'll summarize steps made...

1. Saved serial number (taken with Belarc Advisory) from preinstalled (half chinese language) Windows 8.1 (don't know exactly the version, suspect Windows 8.1 with bing) on tablet
2. Formatted tablet
3. Tried to make a clean Windows 10 (HOME, HOME N and also PRO, everytime with the same result) install with ISO taken with MediaCreationTool, during install (and also after completing installation) it says that the saved serial is not valid
4. Tried to reinstall Windows 8.1 (ISO taken with MediaCreationTool again) HOME, it says that the serial is not valid

So i suspect that the saved serial, is from a WINDOWS 8.1 WITH BING OEM version and this kind of ISO is not accessible/downloadable anywhere (at least I can't find it, any suggestion?)

Still not tried SHOWKEY with that serial, I am in office now, and the serial is saved on a usb pen at home, will try this evening.

So I'm stucked but if everything is like I suspect, it's incredible. If I have a tablet/notebook/netbook with Windows 8 preinstalled, it seems that I can update to Windows 10 without problems, but if I want to make a clean Windows 10 install that serial is not valid...

 

Readyboost tab gone win Windows 11 22H2

Step 1. close unnecessary apps: the only app open is task manager which is needed to see what apps are open

Step2. SFC scan: it resulted in no problems found

Step 3. update drivers,: no updates were found as the most recent one were installed

Step 4. uninstall drivers: made no difference at all

Step 5. remove latest windows update: update 22H2 is not in the list of updes available to uninstall
