Windows 10: Win 7 to 10 using MCT

I have win 7 Home Premium, if I use the MCT to upgrade at what point will I have to pay for the upgrade?

I have 2 laptops (Win 8.1), 1 laptop (Win 7 SP1), and 1 PC (Win 7 SP1) all licensed Home editions.

One laptop has been successfully updated to Win 10. I am using this laptop with MCT on a 128GB USB.

I have the MCT to UPGRADE the Win 8.1 laptops and Win 7 SP1 PC, using the downloaded iso created using my Win 10 laptop (Upgraded from Win 8.1).

Will the UPGRADE work if I remove the USB from Win 10 laptop and plug it in to the Win 8.1 laptop, Win 7 laptop, Win 7 PC?

I have downloaded win 10 (1511) iso before Microsoft pulled this update from MCT. My question is , can I use old win 7 , win 8 or win 8.1 keys with this iso in future to install and activate OS on my system.

 

Microsoft said the free upgrade was only for the first year, but it appears they haven't turned it off (yet). If you upgrade to 10 it will probably still activate and gain a digital licence.

Making a system image before you try with something like Macrium is highly recommended. That way you can always go back to your original windows 7 system in case you have problems upgrading.

Note that 7 Premium's Media Centre, DVD Maker and Media Player's ability to play DVDs will be removed in the upgrade to 10, as will the Windows 7 games. More on that here:
