    Win 8 no longer communicates with Epson Artisan 837 scanner


    This post is to add information. I have read many other posts where owners of scanners are no longer able to access the scanner.Suggestions include rebooting, deleting and re-installing, making sure drivers are up to date, disabling the firewall, restarting Windows Image Acquisition.None of these worked for me. It all used to work very well. I can still print to the device but not scan. I have to think the problem is: a a Security issueb Something to do with the OS not accepting information back from the device - the scanner is of course an input device to the OS, whereas the printer is an o

    Windows 10 Professional Compatability with Epson Artisan 837 Scan Feature

    Upgraded to Win 10 pro on my Dell laptop. Installed recommended Epson Drivers for Artisan 837. Wireless print features work fine. Can not scan either from the Espon Scan application or the Epson unit touch screen. Receive this error:

    Network Scanner is not available.

    Currently being used by user.

    User blah blah (me).

    Epson Scanner will close."

    Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

    Cant scan on Epson Artisan 837

    I get a communications error when I try to scan with my Epson Artisan 837. it says "Make sure the computer is connected." I can copy and print, but I cant scan. Recently purchased Windows 10. Also have WiFi.

    Cant scan on Epson Artisan 837

    I had no problems with my Epson Artisan 837 seeing our Windows 10 computers until the last updates. As you know, there is no option with Windows 10 of DECLINING the updates if you have any desire to turn off your PC, so the updates are mandatory. Something
    in the last Windows updates changed the configuration of my PC and laptop such that my printer no longer see either of them. I have tried the fix above.

    Pleas advise
