Windows 10: Win updates seems to set my Edge browser back to default settings?

It's appearing as it when this win 11 updates, maybe not every update, not sure, then some, maybe all, of the settings I've changed in Edge revert back. For instance. I set Copilot to OFF and after an Windows update it's back, and same with other settings. Is this normal?

To set Internet Explorer/Edge as a default browser, I suggest you to follow the below given steps:

• Press Windows key and type Default Program in search and hit enter.
• Select "Set your default programs"
• Click on “Internet Explorer" or “Edge”.
• Select "Set this program as default” and Click OK.

Default browser settings

Incorrect browser settings is one of the possible reason why you're getting a pop up message it is not set. Kindly follow these steps to set Firefox as your default browser:

• Go to Settings.
• Select System.
• Click Default apps.
• Scroll down and look for Web browser. In this case, the icon will say either Microsoft Edge or Choose your default browser.
• Choose an app screen, select Firefox to set it as the default browser.
• Close the windows to save your changes.
• Then restart your PC.

Already did the steps you suggested. It's some kind of bug where it's impossible to set a default browser at all.

I heard elsewhere from one other user that it seems to be a problem with upgrading to 10 on the SP3. Sounds very specifc.
