Windows 10: Win10 (1803) 64-bit and Nvidia Quadro 2000

used to work up to Win10 1709, but now with newest Win10 1803, my quadro 2000m (notebook version) doesn't work


tried clean slating straight to win10 1803 (64-bit); note: EUFI (unsure if this is one of those super peculiar drivers that only fully work when they are used with a BIOS booting OS)


tried using the automatically loaded circa 2015 drivers from nvidia (windows update automatically loaded those in the background)


tried the latest drivers from Nvidia (R375 U11, aka 377.83) circa 2018


tried the old circa 2015 driver straight from Nvidia (R352 U3, aka v353.62) and the crazy old 2014 driver from my laptop manufacturer--maybe MS was onto something about the old driver being better?


updated the BIOS of the laptop


even tested an external monitor using window + "p" (and fn + f6 in my laptop's case), tried trusting the login (typing in blindly), waiting an absurd amount of time at the black screen, attempted to remotely connect (because I have the laptop hard wired and remote desktop's enabled), even did the cliche take battery out and pull the plug and hold the power key for a minute to drain all energy and temp settings


ALL TO NO AVAIL


behavior remains the same: laptop boots, gets the window logo, then where you would get the background picture and a login, just a black screen (and no mouse cursor)


UNLESS

1) I want to boot to safe mode, you know, the painful way (thanks MS): hard shutdown holding power button down for 7 seconds, hope it boots up to the automatic repair (and wait), if not, cold shutdown and repeat until it happens; then when it does stick and finishes, click Advance options button > troubleshoot > advanced options > startup settings > restart > pick option 5 (safe mode with networking); or,

2) I want low res/nothing disabled: gpedit.msc > computer config > admin template > all settings > prevent installation of devices that match... and plug in the ven_xxxx&dev_xxxx hardware ID (and uninstall/delete the drivers)

3) best choice: I have the quadro 2000m disabled (relying on the built-in intel HD 3000; i.e. no gpu, but perfectly fine graphics), but note the first bootup after disabling: I got a black screen but with a mouse cursor, which was fixed simply by window + "p" and enter (and subsequent reboots were fine)




Anyone have any experience or suggestions per enabling the Nvidia Quadro 2000M without suffering an unsurmountable black screen on boot up?

For people who have Dell T3500/R5500 and anything in that era of computers that use the NVidia Quadro NVS 295 you have download a Windows 10 x64 driver from NVidia.com.

I have attached a driver link below however if you wish to obtain it your self you have to go to the driver download page specific options listed below.

Product Type: "Quadro"

Product Series: "Show all Product Series" then select "Quadro NVS Series"

Product: "Quadro NVS 295"

Operating System: "Windows 10 64-bit"

Select the options that are applicable to your use and search...

It should return Driver 342.00 released on 2016.10.27.

NVIDIA Quadro AA Modes


Hello all,

I was looking through the different AA modes for the quadro card in my Precision laptop. I have a limited understanding of how AA actually works. What has me curious is for example with the GTX 670 in my desktop has different labeled modes than the ones for the laptop quadro.

The modes listed for the GeForce:





Then the modes listed for the Quadro:





My main question here is this:

How do the different modes differ?

For instance the Quadro has three different 8x modes listed. One is 4xMS 4xCS and the other is 4xSS and 2xMS, then the other is just 8x MS. How do these differ and which one is better?
