Win10 2004 changes msftconnecttest.com request to HTTPS, but doesn't actually serve it

According to the Win10 2004 connection endpoints page, msftconnecttest.com now uses HTTPS instead of HTTP (which every prior release has used). The only problem is, you can't actually load the connecttest.txt using HTTPS as their cert is not valid.

    https://www.msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt

This causes Win10 2004 to permanently display 'no internet' if you're behind a proxy, unless you completely disable the network connectivity tests via GP/registry.

Did they forget to serve the msftconnecttest TXT file via HTTPS before releasing 2004?

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

  3. msftconnecttest redirect not working on windows 10 public wifi

Seems odd that I can get onto the login page on my iphone (which apparently does not use msftconnecttest as an interim step, but not the laptop.

Can I bypass this msftconnecttest step manually?
