  1. win10 20h2 troubles

    I'm really beginning to think I've allowed myself to be majorly scammed in the last 2 to 3 weeks. Sorry for the long story but details are important. "Microsoft" informs me that my version of win10 will no longer be supported because i havent been able to receive updates. So I try using a "Microsoft troubleshooter" and after chatting on line and talking with "MS Support" miraculously I now have Win10 20H2- but now trouble starts popping up EVERYWHERE! I need to replace the battery which I did the laptop shuts down without warning regardless of the power setting

    :)

    Trouble upgrading 20H2 with windows update

    I'm running 10 version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630) x64. Windows update tries to install KB4592438 2020-12 Cumulative update. Each time I run the windows upgrade, it fails saying some files are missing or have problems. Here is what I have tried: sfc /scannow, various flavors of DISM, stopped services, cleared out the upgrade cache, and restarted services. All of these result in exactly the same message.

    Should I be worried about this? Can I ignore this? What other steps should I try?

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Update 20h2

    Hi Wicki,

    I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

    20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

    You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2020/10/uninst...

    Content on the above blog is written by a Microsoft MVP so it is safe. However, do watch out for the ads.
