Win10 clean install from USB does not see SSD or HDD that show in BIOS

I've just installed a new motherboard, RAM, and processor and am trying to do a clean install of Win 10 from a USB stick. The SSD where Win10 is to be installed is displayed in the BIOS correctly. When I get to the point of the install wizard to pick where Win 10 should be installed, there are no drives displayed. I've also tried DISKPART, LIST DISK and nothing but my USB drive is displayed. I've checked the power and data connection to the SSD but clearly ? it's working because the BIOS displays it. I've done this successfully many times and never run into this issue so I'm stumped.Motherbo

Win10 clean install on Samsung SSD 850 EVO

BLUF: SSD is not listed ubder "Where do you want to install Windows?"

    Steps Complete:

    1. I've create a Win10 bootable install usb.

    2. I connect the new Samsung SSD 850 EVO via SATA.

    3. I reboot PC and verify SSD is seen by the motherboard/BIOS

    4. Begin Win10 install via usb.

    5. Get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" and the SSD is not listed

    Problems:

    1. Samsung does not offer a driver for the 850 on their website

    2. Cannot locate driver elsewhere

    Unsuccessful Mitigations Steps Attempt:

    A. Format & partition SSD via Windows Disk Management, then retried steps 1-5 above....same result

    B. Clone existing HHD onto SSD via "Image for Windows" by TeraByte, then verified SSD contents via Windows Explorer....similar result

Can you please offer some advice on locating a driver for a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB drive? Or an alternative method?

    Thank you

    USB HDD: IN BIOS

Hi AJAY, in modern BIOS (UEFI) it is normal to have USB devices listed, such as USB HDD without drive being plugged in.

In older Legacy BIOS, a drive would have to be plugged in for it to be listed in BIOS, but not no londer . . .

Clean SSD install (Users folders remain on HDD) - help

My desktop has an old SSD (Win10 boot and applications) and HDD for Users files / data.

I am replacing the old SSD with a new one and will do a clean install of Windows10 Home 64bit and all applications.
I will keep my existing Users files data on the HDD.

    2 questions:

    1. Is it best to disconnect the HDD while doing the SSD clean install and then reconnecting the HDD once Win10 installation is complete?
    2. Regarding Users folder on the HDD - what is the best way to instruct Windows that the Users folders will be on the HDD?

    1. during installation / setup (eg. using audit mode, registry editor etc), or
    2. after the Windows 10 SSD installation is completed and selecting move the location of the users folders within Windows that have been set up to the HDD?

    Thanks
