Windows 10: win10 constantly hard locks

I've been having hard locks that I haven't been able to troubleshoot at all. Its been occurring frequently and for a long period of time. There's no pattern or reason I can figure out, and I'm lost on how to go about trouble shooting it further.


There are no blue screens, reliability monitor is mostly useless, because it only logs the manual power cycle/bad shutdown. Memory passes win10 diagnostic and memtest. I've detached peripherals, drivers up to date and its been happening for some time, so I think a driver issue would have gone through a few versions by now. I've run sfc and dism. No hardware issues that are flagged. There's no performance issues aside from randomly locking.


When it locks it typically just freezes everything, although sometimes only windows itself freezes, while a running application continues normally. Any interaction with the OS, like changing windows, clicking the task bar etc, will just freeze everything up. I get the warning that the program has stopped responding in some instances, but not always, and it doesn't do anything anyway.


Really stuck on what else to do.

HTC 5800 Constantly locks up

Hello: I have a Verizon SMT 5800 (HTC) that is constantly locking up, I perform about 10 soft resets a day and have had to do 4 hard resets in a week. It is running on windows 6.1 and was wondering if this is a software problem. Does anyone know of
any updates to fix this or other suggestions?

WIN10 Locked up my computer

installing win10 locked up my computer to where I can't select anything. It won't even let me force a hard shutdown my only option is to grab the plug from the back of the tower and pull it. I paid $350 for the SSD i installed win10 on from win7 ultimate
64bit and now it's usless. Any suggestions?
