Windows 10: Win10 Default Lock Screen theme does not show 24 Hour Time

I regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems.
Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.

Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.

Is this a bug or what in Win10?

When I had Windows 8.1, the default Lock screen (NOT the user lock screen) had the correct 24 hour time. After the upgrade to Windows 10, the lock screen now shows 12 hour time without the am or pm. The user lock screen is correct.

How do I get the time to display as 24 hour again?

24 hour time on my lock-screen won't sync with the rest of my computer since installing windows 10. The time displayed on lock-screen is 12 hour time, whereas with the rest of my computer the time reads 24 hours. Went to settings to view lock-screen, which
there displays the lock-screen example as in 24 hour time, however, on the actual lock-screen the time actually reads 12 hour time. How does one correct this problem so that the actual lock-screen time displays the exact same time as the rest of one's computer?

Yes, It shows me that too within the display Lock screen settings preview.
It does still show the time in 24 hour format only when I sign out or Lock my screen.
But does not only when rebooting or after shutting down the system.

That's the only thing I ever do extra, being an American expat and having a mix of US & European settings.

Yep. And when it comes to buying watches, I only would buy a watch that has 24 hour time on it.
And I am an American and still prefer to use 24 hour time. *Smile

 

I hate 24 hour time. I hate having to do math in my head to figure out the time. What is so hard adding am or pm to the end of time. Also most analog clocks are 12 hours so it really makes no sense.

 

I should be able to Copy over the settings to my current account since I am running as an Admin user.
I can test it using my Win8.1 or Win10 test machines.

This also happens on Win8.1 as well.


I should test and let you know.

 

Basically all it does is set your time/date/language settings system wide as default(for new user accounts too).

 

Its not hard adding AM/PM, what is however, is when you work non-standard shifts, and you have to schedule work at different hours that cross AM/PM or for me usually PM/AM times. I also have to use GMT when referring to schedules for people in Brazil (like 10 different zones, maybe not that many but at least 3 in just one city alone) ... and India, Israel, and a few other places. Its to the point I keep three clocks to help easily deal with the time zones for the places I use heavily that week. As they say YMMV and I don't begrudge you for wanting AM/PM

I would add that you can also get there through "Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region".
