Windows 10: Win10: Disable windows from resizing when moving across different resolution monitors?

Hello,


On a Windows 10 machine, I have 3 monitors. 2560x1440 - 27", 2560x1440 - 27", 3840x2160 - 32".


I have the UHD screen at 150% scale. The other 2 screens are at normal 100% scale.


When moving windows between the the 1440p and UHD screens, the windows will resize automatically to match the same amount of screen real estate as the screen it's coming from.


So if I move a window from the UHD screen to the 1440p screen, the window will size-down so that it is not blown out on the smaller resolution.


Makes sense, and while it's a nice touch, I'd like to disable it.


Is there a way to disable this function and leave the windows as large or as small as they actually are?

moving and resizing

There may be several reasons why you are unable to resize or move applications after installing an update. To better assist you with your concern, we would like you to answer the questions below:

• Does it happen only on one application?
• Which application are you having issues resizing or moving?

In the meantime, we suggest you to run the Windows 10 troubleshooter. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel
• Run the Windows Store apps troubleshooter

2x Identical Monitors, Resolution stretched on one.

please list:

resolution of all monitors (native, set in windows)

connection methods per monitor (DVI, HDMI etc)

what settings you've adjusted - resizing, HDMI scaling, etc. (on monitor/video drivers as applicable)

 

Using RDP on two monitors... resizes when moved to one monitor

Thanks for the response, my resolutions setting and drivers are good. Displays were working correctly until I hit a couple of keys that made it change (I probably hit the ctrl or fn key and a letter).

The issue is that when I move my RDP window from my two monitors to one monitor, it resizes the RDP display to show two RDP monitors on my one local monitor. What is should do is simply slide over and not resize.

Please advise.
