Win10 feature 2004 update causes blue screens every 5 minutes

    Hello.

Last week the 2004 feature update has been unlocked for my computer it started to update automatically, I didn't force the update manually. So I supposed that the incompatibilities were solved and for that reason the update was available for my PC.

The installation went without problems but after all the process and restarts required, my computer has gone totally unusable. It just keep crashing blue screenevery 5-10 minutes. And there is no explicit exception information, just the codeKMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

It generates an error event and a memory dump I cannot provide it because it's 700+ MB and for security reasons.

I have tried everything I think of:

    • Reinstall it same problem with blue screens
    • Restore the SO with a clean install same problem with blue screens
    • Update all drivers: graphic card, audio, etc. Everything possible.
    • Enter Safe Mode here it do not crashes
    • Executed the disk and memtest diagnostics, all went ok
    • Disconnect all possible peripherals and devices but still has problems
    • Uninstall the update it returns Win10 to version 1909, and works OK

In safe mode it does not crash, so I suppose it has something to do with drivers audio? video? other? who knows. But I cannot determine what is the device/driver that is causing problems in order to find a solution.

My computer is almost 10 years old some components are newer, bought in 2018:

    • Motherboard: Asrock P67 Extreme4 B3 Intel P67
    • Chipset: Intel Core i5 2500K
    • Graphic: card Nvidia GTX 1070
    • OS: Windows 10 Pro now at version 1909, OS version 18363.1016

I need help in finding which is the driver/device that is causing the problem, to try to update it, remove the device or do something. Now I'm forced to stop windows updates, and when I cannot postpone them, what will I do?

    Thanks.

  3. Blue screen when installing Windows 10 feature update 2004

    Hello,

I recently tried to install the Windows 10 feature update 2004 on my desktop PC. At about 70 % of the installation I got a blue screen, with the error code "DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG". As suggested by other posts I looked in "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Rollback"
for a memory dump and indeed found one. I've uploaded it to OneDrive and you can find it here:

    setupmem.dmp

Could somebody who knows about analyzing a memory dump please take a look at the memory dump for finding out which driver causes the problem?

    Thanks is advance,

  4. Win10 feature 2004 update causes blue screens every 5 minutes

Disable installation of Feature Update 2004

About 2 weeks ago, version 2004 showed up on the Updates list and automatically installed. Upon completion of the install, the computer was completely unusable: no application would load; those that started would hang and eventually (5 minutes) fail. To
attempt to remove the update, I had to force a power off (mirrored drives really don't like that!) and then was finally able to use to Recovery under Updates to remove about 95% of the update. After the require restart and while checking what was or was not
working, Updates (of course) reinstalled 2004. Repeat: Recovery and Remove 95% (95% of 95% = 90% Usable). Attempting to use MS questions area, the only suggestion was to Disable the Updates Service which, of course, means no further security or usability
    patches.

All of that overly long explanation is by way of saying: I have attempted the only other option given here for removing 2004. At the moment, the Update Service is Disabled (PS: if you leave it at Manual, it will eventually start up and 2004 will commence
its installation). So, the question: is there ANY way to disable the attempt by Update Service to install version 2004? I don't mean "install and wait for a couple of patches", I mean permanent tell Windows to NOT attempt to install 2004? My computer works
just fine without the feature updates and does not work AT ALL *with* the updates. Prior versions and other patches allow for the update to be Hidden and ignored; Feature Update 2004 will install if the service is running and there appears to be no way to
    abort/hide/ignore the update.

    Any suggestions??
