Windows 10: Win10 fixed Skype for Business crashes!

i've had an inability on two home PCs that were on 8.1.1 to run Lync 2013/Skype for Business 2015. Since I often work from home, this was a pretty big deal. It would always crash immediately upon starting. I Googled the errors it logged & tried everything recommended (others had same issue), but nothing ever worked. I just couldn't use it.

so finally Boxcryptor released a Win10-compatible version (the only thing preventing me from upgrading), and when I upgraded those two boxes to Win10, Skype for Business 2015 magically started working on both! I figured MS was going to have to release a patch to fix the issue, or it simply would never work. How odd...

Skype not muting other sounds in Windows 10

Hi,

is there any solution for this available already? I have upgraded from Win7 to Win10 and have same issue. Win7+Skype for Business 2013 worked OK, now Win10 + Skype for Business 2016 doesn't mute other sounds even when set in sound settings.

To resolve the issue (that may have caused for me by Skype and Skype for Business unexpected crashes upon login, probably generating issues also on Explorer context menu?) I tried restoring to a previously created System Restore Point, but it didn't help.

However, after undoing the System Restore, everything started running well again: Skype and Skype for Business start normally, and Explorer doesn't crash anymore. I hope it's permanent.
