  1. Win10-home: Cannot add user due to "Looks like this isn't a Microsoft account..."

I have my account and 3 other users that have been working fine. I added them all using their gmail acocunts. I want to add one more family member with her gmail acccount -- but for this one I get "Looks like this isn't a Microsoft account....". I know that MS wants users in their active directory. I know that I can create an outlook account for person #5. I am just perplexed why for 1 out of 5 accounts the gmail identity is rejected. What is going on here?

    :)

  2. sign into microsoft account glitch

    Hi Micheal,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    • Is this the only account on the computer?
    • Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

    • Click on search in taskbar and type account.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
    • Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
    • Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

  3. Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

Win10-home: Cannot add user due to "Looks like this isn't a Microsoft account..."

Win10 Home - "Another user on this device uses this Microsoft account"

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving this issue. I understand that you receive an error, “Another user on this device uses this Microsoft account, so you can't add it here." when trying to link local account to Microsoft account. I’ll
certainly help you with this issue.

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
      Run dialog box.
    2. Type lusrmgr.msc and click on
      OK
      .
    3. Now, double click on Users on the left pane.
    4. Look for any user with similar Microsoft account that you are trying to add. If you find any user, right click on it and select
      Delete.
    5. Confirm the prompts if any.

You can also try removing the user using Command Prompt. Refer the steps mentioned below:

Note: Before removing the account, if there is any data in the user account, please take a backup of the data.

    1. Type command prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on the command prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Now, type net user to get the list of users on the computer.
    4. Locate the user that you want to remove. Type
      net user {username} /delete
      .

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
