    Win10 installed build 1511 10586.14 but it messed up the power setting


    I updated to Win10 a couple of months ago and eventually got everything working just right but last Thursday I installed the latest build of Win10 1511 10586.14 and now when I switch my PC off, power is still going to my 2tb WD Elements external drive and to my Thrustmaster joystick. (gotta switch 'em blinky lights off!)

    Poked around in the power management settings and bios to see if there is anything obvious but nothing seems incorrectly set.

    Any idea what may have changed and how do I get everything to power down fully at power off?

    Latest WIN10 update does not allow me to use my MS Office 2007 version.

    I did the repair but it did not fix my problem.

    My office 2007 was 'found' and everything worked just fine on the version of WIN10 I had Tuesday. The problem started when an update automatically ran today when I powered up. The windows currently on my PC is Version 1511 OS Build 10586.14.

    Of course! I obviously had fast start turned off when I initially installed Win10 a few months ago and it reset itself when I installed the latest build. I'd been going round in circles with the various power management options but forgot about that one.
