Windows 10: Win10 / Intel Chipset / HP Ultrabook Sluggish After Display Wake

Hi all,

I have a 2017 HP Spectre x360 running Win10 x64. The Intel drivers are all up to date according to the HP driver utility and the Intel driver utility.

The problem is when I close the display/lid, the system does NOT sleep. I have it set to stay on. When I open the display, sometimes the display doesn't turn back on. Then, if I press power button to sleep, then again to wake up, the display comes back on and the system seems fine for a minute but then everything is very sluggish. There are no processor hogs if I can manage to get Task Manager open. The GPU stays at 0% and nothing looks out of the ordinary.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel Graphics driver.

I generally reboot and all is good.

Any ideas?

Plugging in Kindle is crashing windows 10 after summer update

Indeed, the fix is machine dependent. Have tried my four Win 10 machines.

In all honesty the Laptop runs a lot more smoothly on win10 than it did on win7
