Windows 10: Win10 keeps shutting off c drive search

ive fixed this with troubleshooter, wiped windows dozens of times, still same problem with the windows search turning off by itself even on fresh windows installs... this is going to fry my hdd if it doesnt stop cause it keeps my hdd running 100% easily and freezes up my computer... honestly its going to just cost me unnecessary money and its not even my fault so Microsoft please stop trying to break my hdd cause i shouldnt be forced into extra slavery to replace my disk drive when its not even my wrong doing thats going to break it. i have also seen a windows 7 question about the exact same

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Press Windows +E,
  
• 
  Right click on C: drive.
  
• 
  Select Sharing Tab.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced Sharing.
  
• 
  Uncheck “Share this folder”.

Is there any chance for win10 to search a file under C drive?

The problem has been solved, by re-indexing the whole C drive.

It looks like by default only "\Documents" or "\User", or "\ProgramData" folders are indexed in Win10?

Users need to select folders himself...

Anyway, I can search all the folders on C drive now.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + R, type fsmgmt.msc.
• Select Shares and right click on C$.
• Select Stop Sharing.
