Windows 10: Win10 Keyboard/Language Button constantly hidden, why??

I use two different keyboards - English US and English INTL. I default to INTL because it is helpful for typing any language that shares a character set to EnglishSpanish, Portuguese, etc. but I need to switch to English US when coding or its a nightmare getting the correct amount of quotation marks and apostrophes and everything else because of the two key input method of the international keyboard eg. '+a = á , ~+n=ñ , etc.

Now my problem is that the language bar that's supposed to exist at the bottom right of the taskbar, in between the time and the miniature icons of running processesthe system tray, IS NEVER THERE. and whenever it isn't there, I CAN'T CHANGE THE KEYBOARD/LANGUAGE. Win+space only works when this "language bar" is present... but by default, for whatever reason, it isn't. EVEN THOUGH, in Settings->keyboard and language, there is an option for "Use the desktop language bar when it's available" that I have SET.... BUT WHEN AND WHY IS IT NOT AVAILABLE???

In order to change my keyboard, I have to actually open this System Settings page for "Region & Language" and THEN the "Language Bar" appears and I can change my keyboard using win+space...

Why is this hidden by default? Why is it hidden on startup? Why doesn't this button appear like all the other stuff on my taskbar, on boot-up? Why do I have to open system settings just to 'activate' this feature? Why doesn't the win+space hotkey work to change the keyboard/language ALL THE TIME?



I have been using my computer a LOT during quarantine and have encountered this issue OFTEN, and it bugs me like nothing else. It doesn't make sense.

I suggest you to remove the English (UK) language pack and then try to set
Portuguese language as Keyboard language and check if it helps.

To remove a language pack, follow the below steps:

1. Click on the Start Button and select
Settings.

2. Select the Time and language.

3. Now click on the Region and Time
tab.

4. Click on English (UK) and select
remove.

Remove language from the keyboard

Hi,

I follow all the steps listed here. However, the "Remove" button is not active

How can I activate the button?

Step 1: System
Settings window.

1. Press Windows logo + I keys on the keyboard to open
   Settings page.
2. Click on Time & language from the options and select
   Region & language from the left side panel of the window.
3. Click on the keyboard language you want to remove under Languages and click on
   Remove.
4. Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

 

The extra keyboard layout keep adding to my language bar (with Pics)

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.
