Windows 10: WIN10, Login PIN only unable to reset, or use password requires A1B2C3

Dear reader, I have a Windows 10 PRO build, where I am unable to login with since July.Might have been after an update, that it switched to PIN only it is not my laptop, helping out a friend.- Login screen requires only PIN, there is NO option for reset pin or switch to password. - Requires after reboot the A1B2C3 code to open the PIN window.- Tried to reboot, tried safe mode- Updates restore are both receiving an error the new items one, and the quality updates.- System restore also gives an errorWhat do I have as options:- I do have acces to the CMD module on the X:/ disc but have no ide

Reset win10 login pin

Is it possible to reset the windows 10 login pin if you've forgotten what it was?

I managed to get it changed (after *much* trial and error), but it appears to require the old pin to change the pin -- even if you know the password. That's just weird. You should be able to reset the pin at any time if you have the full password.

I tried steps of both links:

• #1: reset PIN code
  
  • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    
• #2: change or reset windows password
  
  • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
    
  • I am using a local account
    

If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.

Reset win10 login pin

1) You can factory reset your computer
2)Reset your PIN when you are on your lock screen head over to sign in options and click it
then click on your sign in with pin and click I forgot my PIN or something like that then follow the instructions on your screen and voila it works! At least it should. Thx for reading!
