How to align Portrait and Landscape monitor, so that mouse doesn’t jump up or down?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand you want to align multiple monitors in such a way that, the mouse doesn’t jump up or down while moving between them.

To do this you will have to alignment of the monitor in Settings as per your requirement. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + I, to open
      Settings
      .
    2. Click on System and select
      Display
      from the left pane.
    3. Now, under Rearrange your displays, click on any one of the monitor, hold the mouse button and drag it to align it.

You can refer the screenshot below:

However, if you want to move from the bottom of the Portrait monitor to the Landscape monitor, you will have to drag the mouse upwards. Moving the mouse sideways from the bottom will not allow you to move between the monitors.

Opening programs on second monitor, not main monitor

    Hi,

Thank you for being a part of Windows 10.

I would suggest you to try the following steps.

    1. Right click a free area of the desktop, select "properties"

    2. Click the "settings" tab

    3. Click the mouse on the seconary monitor grapic,

    4. UNCHECK the box "extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"

    5. Click the primary monitor graphic

    6. Make sure that "use this device as primary monitor" is CHECKED

If you're not sure which is 1 and which is 2, tap the "identify" button. It should display a huge, gigantic "1" on the primary monitor.

Or if that does not work, right click the application on the Taskbar, click Move, then use the arrow keys to move the program. The mouse cursor locks to the program window and you can use the mouse to position the program
on your screen, you just have to use the arrow keys initially.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other issues with Windows in future.

  4. Win10 monitor positioning - allow for mouse to "Jump" from 1 monitor to another?

How to align Portrait and Landscape monitor, so that mouse doesn’t jump up or down?

I have two monitors that are both 1080p, one is landscape and one is portrait, when I try to align them so the mouse doesn't jump up or down when I move between monitors there is at best a half inch difference.

is there a setting that can be manually changed in the registry that will let me fine tune where the two resolutions are, for example the landscape monitor pixel 0,0 meets monitor 2's 0,1080

***Modified title from: is there a way to fine tune the position of multiple monitors when one is landscape and the other is portrait?***
