  1. Win10 not using all logical processors

Hi,I am running Windows version 10.0.18362.628 with an i7-4790 with 4 cores and 8 logical processors. 16G RAMWhile watching the performance monitor I start xampp with MySQL and Apache and open files in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator. Processors 0 and 1 peg out as expected while the other 6 show no apparent activity. I could understand if I was running out of RAM and things slowed to a crawl, but I'm not and I can't seem to get use of the other processors. What am I misunderstanding - or is something wrong? Thanks

    :)

  2. How many physical AND logical processor does Win10 support

Its a SIMPLE enough question..one no one can find anywhere!

How many physical AND logical processor does Win10 support?

    XP 32 bit = 1 and 32 log

    XP 64bit = 2 and 64 log

    Win7 32 = 1 and 32 log

    Win7 64 = 2 and 256 log

    Win 8.1 = 1 and 32 log

    Win 8.1 = 2 and 256 log

    Win 10 = no stats!

If you're NOT CERTAIN, do NOT reply (no guessing)

will Windows 10 ever support 4 cores, 8 logical processors?

    several thoughts about your comment:

    1) In that link, the 32 cores and 256 cores is when he is referring to Win8 not Win10. Win10 is downgraded to 2 cores according to him.

    2) when I do a "msinfo32.exe" on my computer, I get "Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)". So, I would think Microsoft would know what is on my computer, 4 cores 8 processors.

Win10 not using all logical processors

will Windows 10 ever support 4 cores, 8 logical processors?

according to this a max of 2 cores are supported but logical processors are more:

    Windows 10 versions CPU limits

When I do an internet search I always come up to the 2 physical core limit.

Is there a difference perhaps between Win10 Pro and Win10 Home?
