Win10 on new hd - access to WindowsApps

Upgrading win10 went weird. So I installed on a new hd.

I would like access to all my store apps and games which defaults to \WindowsApps. Because resetting windows deletes apps I didn't want to loose the app data and game saves so used the move feature so they are all in D:\WindowsApps

Naturally the new install creates c:\WindowsApps but can I now link back to this folder to run the programs with the save data?

If I set the ms store to use d:\WindowsApps that it would have created if it didn't exist hopefully it will just carry on installing in this folder

If not i guess i will have to redownload and install them all.

Then I'm hoping I can copy the save data folder into the new installations

so can i make shortcuts back to the old d:\WindowsApps ?

    :)

  2. New build PC w/SSD and new HD + new Win10 Retail usb + old HD with Win10 oem

I was informed that I can not use my current copy of Win10 on my new build because it's OEM. Soooo, I bought ANOTHER copy of Win10 Retail on usb from the Microsoft Store.

    Now my question:

I'll install the new copy of Win10 onto my new computer's SSD and will be set to boot from it. All my pics, files, music, etc is on my old HD (along with Win10 oem). Since I'll be booting from the SSD with the new copy of Win10, will it cause problems if
I simply add the old HD to my new build, to access all my files? Or do I need to painstakingly transfer everything from it to the new HD through a usb?

I won't be able to run both computers at the same time because I'll be using the power supply from the old one.

    Any suggestions?

WindowsApps folder says permissions are corrupted and need to be deleted, is this normal or critical?

According to your description, I suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Navigate to the location C:\Program Files.
    2. Right-click on the WindowsApps folder, and select Properties.
    3. Turn to Security tab and click on Advanced.
    4. Click on Change and then type Users in Enter the object name to select area.
    5. Click on OK, then click Apply > OK. You can also add the TrustedInstaller to the users list and check if it takes effect.

However, you might be still not able to access the files. The workaround is to go inside the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\, and repeat the same way with the Microsoft.WindowsStore* folders.
