Windows 10: Win10 previous file version / no useable disk found

Hi,

was chg into previous file version and when trying to turn on, i cant select my separate SSD or my G-Drive location within WIn Explorer as a backup drive.

Who knows a fix so i can use the SSD or G-Drive and don't need another hardware for turning on previous file version ?

Perform the steps to delete previous version of windows :-

• 
  In the search box on the taskbar, type settings, then choose it from the list of results.
  
• 
  Select System > Storage > This PC and then scroll down the list and choose Temporary file
  
• Under Remove temporary files, select the Previous version of Windows check box and then choose Remove files.

 

Is there an easy way to remove all previous versions of Windows after doing a Windows 10 upgrade?

Hello,

Windows 10 replaces your previous version of Windows by moving it to the Windows.old folder. Windows 10 becomes the default operating system.

I would like to inform you that after 30 days of upgrade, an automatic disk cleanup will run which will remove Windows.old folder.

Also note once you delete the Windows.old folder, you'll not be able to roll back to previous version of Windows.

I suggest you to check with the steps again and report us back if it doesn't help:

  Click Start, type disk cleanup in the Start Search text box, and then click Disk Cleanup.
  
• 
  In the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, click Files from all users on this computer.
  
• 
  In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
  
• 
  Click to select the Previous Windows installation(s) check box, and then click OK.

Delete Previous version of Windows

Hi ewisgrell, to delete previous versions of Windows, run Disk Cleanup as shown below

Open File Explorer

Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

This time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete
