Win10 Pro excessive writes to ssd - 115 TB in 790 hours

Win10 Pro is writing excessively to ssd rapidly eroding its life. Main culprits are System and NT Kernel which are writing to disk constantly when machine is on. New machine, a few months old, hp 800 G3 AIO, i7-7700. As with many, had significant problems with updates installing, taking several attempts at the last one. I am assuming the problem lies in the system but don't want to do a clean re-install unless I have to because that will route me through the update process again and maybe get me right back where I started. sfc found nothing, says it's fine even though it can't be.

What are possible fixes? The current write rate averaging .15 TB/hr. has to be excessive and indicative of a system problem. At the current rate it will chew up my ssd in less than a year. It's a business machine, 3 yr. warranty from hp, but they have no clue as to Windows and if I contact Microsoft am told to get service from hp. And I say to myself, what a wonderful world.

Any ideas out there for fixing this?

    :)

Win10 clean install on Samsung SSD 850 EVO

BLUF: SSD is not listed ubder "Where do you want to install Windows?"

    Steps Complete:

    1. I've create a Win10 bootable install usb.

    2. I connect the new Samsung SSD 850 EVO via SATA.

    3. I reboot PC and verify SSD is seen by the motherboard/BIOS

    4. Begin Win10 install via usb.

    5. Get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" and the SSD is not listed

    Problems:

    1. Samsung does not offer a driver for the 850 on their website

    2. Cannot locate driver elsewhere

    Unsuccessful Mitigations Steps Attempt:

    A. Format & partition SSD via Windows Disk Management, then retried steps 1-5 above....same result

    B. Clone existing HHD onto SSD via "Image for Windows" by TeraByte, then verified SSD contents via Windows Explorer....similar result

Can you please offer some advice on locating a driver for a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB drive? Or an alternative method?

    Thank you
