Windows 10: WIN10 PRO UPGRADE 2020 to 20H2 fails to Install, Ver 2020 still running But UPLOAD says...

WIN10 PRO 64 on i7 4core 8 thread 4.2GHZ, 2660 Mhz 16GB RAM, ASUS P8 Z77, MSI Nvidea GTX1650 S 4GB GPU

Msoft kbrd, mouse


Received an error message after 20H2 download and install of same. about a problem with a device.

System restarted itself to original version 2020.12.03.17130003

This verified from the Win10 menu


BUT

when Update invoked again it tell me that Version 20H2 is now installed !!!!

It is not

AND

I can no longer attempt to download 20H2 as it insists Its already installed

So now looks like am stuck with Ver 2020 for ever.


I have made a sys image backup before updating to 20H2 and have done both extended virus scan,

Chkdsk and sfc/ scannow , all OK before the sys image backup and the 20H2 attempted download.

Will I have to do a RESTORE from my sys image disk before I can again attempt a 20H2 downlaod?

Does anyone else have this bug?

windows 10 May 2020 (build 2004) update installed ok, about & ver say still on 1909

Hi

any thoughts on this, this is on a domain connected work PC, w10 Pro, updates via WSUS.

update history says it installed successfully

"Feature update to Windows 10 (consumer editions), version 2004, en-us x64

Successfully installed on ‎12/‎07/‎2020"

system about & cmd ver both say it's still 1909, 18363.900

 

Windows 10 20H2 Upgrade

I doubt it is a glitch. I suspect it was designed that way.
