Windows 10: WIN10 randomly makes a photo from somewhere the desktop background

I have been running WIN10 Home for a few years. Recently it has randomly put a photo as the desktop background. Sometimes it's there sometimes it isn't. It was only one photo for a few weeks but today a different photo came up. The first photo I was able to search the hard drive and found it, Then moved it to another folder location. But it still came up a couple of days later. I don't see anything in display settings that would make this happen. Any ideas. Ron

Windows 10 Desktop background photo not changing


Setup - two monitors. Nvidia Quatro graphic card

Desktop background problem
I have set Personalisation - Desktop Background - Slideshow - Set Location to a Photo folder to use Photos - Change every minute - Shuffle Off (tried On as well but makes no difference) - Fit set to Fit.

Problem is that the images never change, though they are different ones on the two monitors.

I have tried various permutations of the above without any success. Which folder of photos I use doesn't make any difference to the situation - same two photos displayed.

My wife's laptop which is setup in the same way seems to have a similar but not identical problem. hers changes but only selects from 4 photos despite more being available in the chosen folder.

Suggestions appreciated!

 

Slideshow as desktop background.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows Logo Key + I. Then click on Personalization.
• Click on Background to change it.

Lost desktop background

I did a Search & Distroy spyware scan the other day, and one of the suggested "fixes" said something about removing Active Desktop. Like the muppet I am I clicked yes and am now without a desktop background picture.

Does anyone have an idea how to reverse this? If I try to select a picture it's simply not added as a background.
