    WIN10: Set up backup, network location


    Despite my PC being synced to OneDrive, I'd like to be able to use OneDrive 1Tb with Microsoft 365 subscription to keep a couple of latest backups, if possible. But, as I don't know how to do that, I'd appreciate some help. Here's a screenshot:

    Cannot Backup to Network Location - Win10 Creator

    Cannot Backup to Network Location - Win10 Creator

    Since I upgraded to Win10 Creator, I cannot make backups to another PC on my Home Network.

    I can navigate to the other PC location where I wish to make my Backup when I try to change the Backup Location settings, however I am now requested to enter Network Credentials. Note that Password Protection Sharing is Turned Off on all my PCs in
    Public Folder Sharing and the folder where I wish to make my Backup set is shared and set to Full Control.

    Can someone help?

    How to set a Backup location (Windows XP)?

    Hi Greg - It is Windows 7.

    The problem is when I attach an external hard drive to use as a backup the device does not come up as a possible backup (if I go through the steps to choose a backup). Nor is it listed as a folder in the Libraries window to drag files into.

    I have gone through via Windows help all steps, and yet the drive is still not appearing as a possible Backup location.

    (It is listed in Devices).

    If you can explain to me how to set this external hard drive up as a backup I'd be grateful!
