    Win10 Video Driver reduce resolution

Is it possible to configure the Win10 video driver so that it uses less than the full height of a screen?
For example, I want to use a 4K screen (3840x2160) but only use, say, the bottom 1080 rows of pixels (or 1200, or some other number <2160).
Note that I do not want to use the top portion of the screen at all. I want to retain square pixels.
    Thank you

    :)

video file size and resolution reduced suddenly

The video size in mp4 format had been downsized and the resolution quality reduced dramatically.

May I know the issue, is it due to the window 10 updated? As there is only Microsoft Office 2010 update after window 10.

May I know is there any solution to restore the resolution and, if I transfer the videos to external HDD, will the resolution drop again when I watch it on laptop?

I hope to know more about this. Thank you.

Screen resolution not allowed by Win10

    Hi Clark:

Thanks for your message, but unfortunately it didn't work. I did the rollback and restart as you suggested, but resolution is still screwed up. At this AMD site:

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Win10-Driver-Support.aspx

    they say this:

    ---------------------------------

AMD Radeon™ HD 4000 Series products and older are not certified to support Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.2 or higher and therefore, do not have driver support for Windows® 10.

Windows® 10 will install the default Microsoft®Basic Display Driver (MBDD) for these graphics adapters. MBDD provides basic display functionality (low resolutions and color) on a single monitor but DOES NOT support:

    • Display scaling control
    • Multiple displays
    • Display rotation
    • Video capture
    • Power settings
    • VSync control
    • Brightness control on integrated display panels
    • AMD Catalyst™ Control Center
    ------------------------------

So isn't the issue that Microsoft needs to provide a backwards-compatible Windows update, or updated Microsoft Basic Display Driver, for the hundreds (or thousands) of us with 4000 and older graphics adapters?

    resolution

The first thing to figure out is what is the resolution of your new screen, just to eliminate the possibiilty that the resolution is not an error. Search the for monitor specifications. That is a valid resolution, just not one expected on new devices.

On the other hand, there is a known issue with recent windows updates that have had various bad effects on displays, including reduced resolution. So, if the monitor is confirmed to be 1080x1920 then you will have to use the other suggestions to roll back your
video driver or install the most recent video driver from the cardmaker downloaded and installed,
