Windows 10: Win10: Video Editor - how to set project folder?

HiThere is a tool called Video Editor in Start Menu. The tool calls itself also Microsoft Photos 2020.20090.1002.0.When I hit the New video project button, the tool does not ask for the Path to store the project.Is it somehow possible to customize the path where it stores the projects?

Video Editor - can't find my project anymore

Hi,

I used Video Editor for the last two weeks, working on a project, everything was working fine, until this morning.

So I tried to work again on my project, but for some reason, everytime I click on "Video Editor" in the search bar of Windows 11, it opens "Photos"

And in Photos, well, I can't access my project. I see the photos and videos I use in my project, but I can't access anymore the video editor interface. The left menu contains:

- All photos

- One Drive - Personal

- Favourites

- Folders

Top right I only see two buttons : "Import" and "Settings (icon)"

So I can't find any "new video" button, or anything that can help me get back to the Video Editor interface. I have no idea what happened, yesterday everything was working fine, and now that I'm almost done with my video, I can't find it

Please help!

 

Restore Video Editor projects

Hi! Is there any way to restore a deleted project in video editor? The music is still there but not the clips.

 

Photos app creates "Video Projects" folder in a random folder

If anyone have this problem here's what I found: it looks like the Photos app creates a "Video Projects" folder in the first folder on the sources list (Settings -> Sources). I removed default "Pictures" folder from there so it started to use next source folder I had, which happened to be a OneDrive location. Yay MS!

WARNING: changing the first item on the sources list will corrupt your existing projects! At least it did for me. What's even worse, restoring the first item will not fix the projects (yay MS!). If you want to delete first source item you need to back up the projects first (open project, back up option is in the three dots menu, the top right corner). To save you the hassle: you restore backed up project from the three dots menu next to the "New video project button". I have no idea if changing the Sources list can break anything else.

Having this warning in mind you can change the "Video Projects" folder location by recreating the Sources list from scratch and setting the location as a first item (I created dedicated empty folder for this).
