  1. Win10: why do Windows update moves back user folders and Windows Temp folders back to C: drive?

Hi, ever since Windows-7, I am always moving to a different drive all of My Document folders the one that are moveable and the Windows Temp folders. But I noticed on Windows-10, sometimes after an update, it moves back these folders to their original location on the C: drive. It even re-initializes the system variables I use to relocate the Windows Temp folders. When I find out they got moved back, it usually happen days or weeks after it was done. I never know when its done because Windows update does not warn me.The reason I am doing this is because I do not want my C: drive to run out o

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Win10: why do Windows update moves back user folders and Windows Temp folders back to C: drive? ;)
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

Win10: why do Windows update moves back user folders and Windows Temp folders back to C: drive?

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions
