Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad

 

How to isolate the cause of my PC crashes at a set time? Usually occurs between 02:00 and 04:00

I will try to keep this short.

I have been encountering consistent PC freezing between the hours of 02:00 and 04:00 on Windows 10. Not on Linux. The whole system will lock up, and the screen will either turn black, or it will keep what was already displayed on. No mouse cursor will work, no input entry will work. The system must be hard reset.

I noticed that Windows maintenance is scheduled for 02:00. Last night it crashed only at 03:03.

I modified the value to 10:00. It crashed at 10:30. This was the thing that helped me decide this could have been the issue, because previously, it had never crashed around this time.

Knowing that correlation doesn't equal causation, I would like to pin point specifically the action causing this.

I have looked in Windows Event Viewer and all it seems to reveal is that ESENT information event.

I noticed earlier than when I attempted to change the maintenance time for a third time, to 14:00, the system crashed. I am almost convinced this is the cause, but I would like to know how to isolate what specific part of the maintenance process is causing the issue.

Are there any alternative diagnostic tools I can run to figure this out? I have tried CHKDSK and SFC.

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?
