Windows 10: Win10Pro - locked out Pin requires App?

Thank you. The .bat file in the tutorial has been updated to recreate an empty WindowsBackup key. Hi Though I've read your comments and your suggestions I've not posted e.g needed assistance on tenforums for yonks. My partner (she is a SEN Assessor) has a Huaweib MateBook 13 2020 with an AMD Ryzen and 16GB of RAM which I purchased just before Christmas (a nice piece of kit) and I installed Win10Pro and Office 2019. Recently it's been freezing to the point that it was interfering with her work. So I was investigating and decided to go into Safe Mode. Typed in msconfig and rebooted. When it did it I ended up in the usual login (its so fast I was caught out out) and then presented with a login which failed after being informed that an Application was required, then told it couldnt get one! So we have no option so far to use the passwords that are created (unfortunately the finger print was never enabled). I have an option Smart Reset/Recovery or use Acronis 17, but thats a month out of date (don't ask)! Any thoughts would be appreciated Ive looked around and this would be the nearest to this issue. How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.

PIN is now being required to logon

Hi Kevin,

If you're having trouble using your PIN to sign into Windows, you can try resetting your PIN. Kindly check this
link regarding PIN sign-in issues.

If that doesn't work. We suggest resetting your PC.

Warning: Following these steps will remove all of your data, programs, and settings

• 
  Start your PC and select the Power icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the lock screen.
  
• 
  While holding down the Shift key, select Restart.
  
• 
  On the Boot options menu, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything.
  
• 
  Your PC will restart and will reset itself.

Pin lock isn't locking Notification & Action area

I have applied pin to get back from lock screen it works well for desktop & app list but not for Notification & Action area.

When phone is locked with pin and requiring for pin still

1. I can open notification & action area

2. I can enable/disable any feature in action area(Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.)

3. I can read messages and even I can reply with Windows 10 new feature of replying from notification/action area

4. I can attend calls

Something really need to be done for these issues.
