  1. Win11 BSOD and upgrading

Hi, Wondering if anyone can help. Non techy so can't produce files. Successfully upgraded from Win10 to Win11 a couple of weeks ago and decided to start upgrading games PC. Got graphics card first but didn't improve much so now on a full rebuild. CPU, motherboard, RAM and SSD. I can't take the current SSD with me to the new build as it's key is linked to the old PC so I guessed I'd need to do a clean install or start over with a new install of Win11. I'm not sure if I used the right option but went to the Microsoft site and chose to download Win11 to an USB drive. Used a blank, newly forma

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

Will upgrading two windows 11 fix bsod

    Recommended steps:
    1. Backup the OS partition. Repeat: make a backup
    2. Download the Win10 ISO and perform a repair install (will not affect your installed apps or data)
Use the system and see if it resolved the BSOD.
If not, then maybe a clean install of either Win10 or Win11 might resolve the problem. But a clean install will require the re-installation of all your apps.

An alternative could be to upgrade to Win11, either from being offered from the Windows Update or other means. However, if the the problem would likely still exists if a clean install is not done.
