    Win11 Pro DLNA server No Music

    When I enable media streaming on my new Win11 desktop PC my client devices see it as a DLNA server and show music categories like Albums and All Artists but they all say "No music" when selected.My MP3s are on D:\Music and I have pointed the Music library to there,If I open Media player locally than it can see all my albums and play them but none of the them are available to clients. The same setup works fine on my older Win7 PC. Why does it not work on Win11?If I leave the PC for a few days then media streaming gets disabled as well. Why does the setting not persist?

    :)

  2. DLNA music streaming from Groove Music in Windows 10

    I use PLEX for DLNA streaming my music collection to my stereo system. Much better than Windows Media Player. I store my music collection on OneDrive.

    Its not cheap. I paid $150 for the Plex Pass. Access to music videos and much more.

    It uses a PLEX server on your PC to stream via DLNA to your devices like a internet stereo.

    Pandora is also my favorite!!!

    Go to: Downloads

    Just a suggestion.

    Windows Media Player - DLNA Server Issues

    That's the issue with problem 2 though. I have to constantly turn the DLNA server back on and reconfigure it.

    When the DLNA server is off, no servers display. When it is on, the actual and duplicate DLNA servers display.

    Windows Media Player - DLNA Server Issues

    When did it start happening: After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. None of these problems existed when I was on Windows 7. I had a DLNA server setup when I was using Windows 7 too.

    Problem(s):

    • When viewing the list of available DLNA servers on my smart TV I am getting two identical DLNA servers. One works and the other simply states there are no media files available.
    • About once a month, Windows 10 will decide to shut off my DLNA server. That means I have to open up Windows Media Player, click Streaming, and Turn On...again.

    I am sure number 2 is harder to resolve than number 1. Number 1 is probably just some registry entry that needs to be removed.
