Windows 10: WIN11 problem with old games needed DX9

Hi everyone, I have Windows 11 on a new laptop and I've hit a wall when trying to install DirectX9.0c which is needed by most of the older games that I still play. I've used Microsoft's official DX Redist like you suggested in that case: Windows 11 and DirectX9.0c support - Microsoft Community But I still have info: Instalation cannot continue because this game requires DirectX 9.0c ... When I run the dxdiag utility I can see that DirectX12 is installed, and no problem found. Is there any way I can have DirectX9.0c installed and run that game? My Device + OS Specifications: Edition Windows 11

I have an old game that needs dx9 to work, i have tried the solution of installing DirectX Redist (June 2010) and restarted my laptop but this doesnt work for me. im using windows 11 as it is a new laptop, Is there any other way to get dx9 ?

- The reason reinstalling DirectX didn't help is very likely because DX9 is not the actual culprit.

What is more likely is something else is causing the game to crash, and because the game uses DX9 Windows pops

out an error that suggests DX9 is involved. Windows errors are very often misleading in this regard.

- Are you running Lord of The Rings Online via Steam, or another client ?

As Jonathan suggested, there may be a problem with the game itself. Possibly a recent patch ?

from about ten days ago with the same issue you are having. One of which was solved by using the games 32bit launcher ]

Have you run the Verify Integrity of Game Files tool (or equivalent if not playing via Steam) ?

- If the game is launching and only crashes after you try to load the actual game play it could be due to

an issue with your graphics processor, or driver corruption as the setup screens don't put much load on the gpu.

- What graphics processor does your laptop use, and have you monitored the cpu and gpu temperatures ?

DX9 games not working? Compatibility mode crashes ?

I have win10 64bit and I cannot play any dx9 games at all as they either crash or work at extremity low fps. Even compatibility mode makes games like Assassin's Creed 1 dx9 or VTMB just crash at startup
(instead of working at 12fps or something). Please note that modern games work great. The problem only applies to old dx9 games and yes I have tried the dxsetup and regardless of how much i try it, it's still pointless. Yes I have the latest nvidia drivers.
Also note that compatibility modes don't seem to work, as in they just crash games instead of making them work. Thanks in advance.
