Windows 10: Win11 Rdp Usb Drive

I have a scenario with 30 pc with windows 10/11 that is not connected to ActiveDirectory win 2019 Server. This pc is use to connect to an RdpSession. RdpSession is connected to an AD. My question is, is possible to assign to an Rdp user only one specific Usb Drive? So only one specific USB drive can be redirect to rdp session? Thanks Loris

RDP connection win10 -> win11

Hello,

I am trying to connect from one laptop (win10) to another one (win11) in the same wi-fi, over RDP, but I'm keep getting the "Your credentials did not work" message.

1. I enabled Remote Desktop connection on my target laptop (the one with win 11) and allowed remote connection in the Firewall settings.

2. For the RDP configuration, I entered the IP address of the target laptop and for the username I used the value that I got in cmd, "whoami" command. For the password I entered the one which I use on login screen.

I already tried everything that I found on the internet, and it does not work.

The funny thing is that when I try in opposite direction, RDP from laptop (win11) to laptop (win10), I manage to login over RDP, but in the direction that I need it is not working (although I follow all the same steps).

Do you have any idea what I can do more, because I am frustrated ?!

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

 

Update Win11 from a bootable USB drive

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5000 series laptop. It was having problems installing a Win11 update and Dell Support assist would not install. Frustrated, I reset the SSD using DISKPART > Clean. I have reinitialized and reformatted the SSD to contain a single partition.

I downloaded the Windows 11 ISO file and put it on a USB drive made bootable using RUFUS.

As far as I can tell, there is absolutely NO provision in the laptop BIOS to boot from a USB device.

Been all over the internet trying to figure out how to reload Win11 from the USB drive, but have come up empty.

Does anyone know how to reinstall Win11 on an Inspiron 5000 from a bootable USB drive?
