    WIN11 - right clicking Windows flag freezes then reloads explorer


    This started a couple of weeks ago, I right click the START MENU / windows flag icon in Windows 11 to bring up the menuit freezes my computer for a second then kills explorer and reloads? the context menu does not appear, just crashes by reloading explorer.please advise? NOTE: I'm currently signed up for Preview Builds on Windows 11, which I wish I could unenroll for but the option is greyed out unless I reinstall the entire OS which is not an option for me right now.

    right click crashes explorer

    I'm thinking you have a program installed on your machine that integrates itself into Windows shell that is messed up. An example would be a program like imageburn or Catalyst control center that puts itself into the "right-click list". If you've installed any programs recently, try uninstalling them.

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

    Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
    Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
    Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

    NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
    But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.

    I appreciate the steps you have taken so far to resolve the issue. If you haven't tried restarting the Windows Explorer process please try the steps below and check:

    Restart the explorer.exe Process.

    Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager.

    On the Processes tab, right-click on the Windows Explorer process and select Restart.

    If that doesn' work follow the suggestion provided by Kapil Arya MVP on the mentioned Microsoft thread below:
