  1. Win11 scrolling problem only in win explorer menus after latest update?

Recently updated to win11 from win10,Latest updates as of today 10/7/2022.I have a strange scrolling problem I can't seem to find help with anywhere now. When opening windows explorer menus settings etc the scroll bar automatically scrolls to either the top or the bottom. Making it almost impossible to navigate. One thing I noticed is it only happens if focused on the window or menu with the mouse. Also clicking and holding the scroll bar and dragging seems to override it. Until you release your finger and let the scroll bar free, then it proceeds up or down.I unplugged my keyboard and mouse w

Win11 Can't start Device Manager as Administrator in Win+x menu, can in Win10; intentional?

Background: Main / local account is 'Standard', and a separate Administrator account is enabled with password, for admin tasks. UAC is set to 'Max'.

Win+x opens the Power User Menu, of which Device Manager can be accessed.

    • In Win10, if you hold Ctrl+Shift when you click Device manager, it starts as Administrator.
    • In Win11, Ctrl-Shift doesn't work, and you can't run as Administrator.
Workaround: To run Device Manager as Administrator, either:

    • Start an elevated command prompt (Win+R, cmd, Ctrl-Shift-Enter), then run devmgmt.msc
    • Start directly (Win+R, devmgmt.msc, Ctrl-Shift-Enter)
It is a massive issue for us because all our client machine logins are now mandated to be 'Standard' (non-Administrator) users, and we still need to be able to do Admin tasks easily.

This is a major productivity killer. Is it intentional, and if so why, and can it be overridden? Is it a design philosophy change in Win11?

    Thanks.

Scroll bar on main menu scrolls straight to last item

When I click on the scroll bar of the main windows menu (bottom left button) and start to scroll down, the scrolling then continues automatically to the last item on the list so that I can't access the others. It is as if gravity has taken charge! There is no problem with scroll bars in web windows or in Excel. I think the same problem was happening in Word last week but it is not today. I have tried following various recommended fixes including a clean boot, running Windows defender scan and switching off some mouse functions. I am no computer expert so it is possible I have perforemd all these actions correctly. Nothing has solved the problem. I've also tried a different mouse.
Any suggestions as to what is the cause of the problem and how I might fix it would be very much appreciated. The graphics card is fairly ancient: could this be the problem?

Win11 scrolling problem only in win explorer menus after latest update?

Can't scroll in start menu windows 10

    Hey all.

I updated my windows to 10 and all is good besides the scrolling.

I cannot scroll in the start menu or some other menus in windows. (File explorer works and of curse that in chrome everything works.)

It's just the start menu and basically all the menus in the new windows 10.

The funny thing is that's it shows me the little mark that's get showed when you actually do scroll, but nothing happens.

I'm using Samsung 9 series, with Syntaptics drivers which are installed.

    Any suggestions??

    Thanks!
