Windows 10: Win11 & System rebuild ?

Im pretty sure I dont have my Win11 setup as local, or even if MS would let you. Ill be rebuilding my current Asus1700 socket/DDR4 & i5 to a Ryzen 9AM5/DDR5 & MSIAM5 once the new AMD chipsets come out. What do I need to do to be able to reuse my two M2 Samsung drives and reuse my Win11MS USB and be able to clean install Win11 onto the new hardware?

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

Full PC Rebuild. Upgrade to Win11 prior to rebuild or start fresh on Win11 after?

I'm rebuilding my PC (new mobo, cpu, ssd, etc...) and am currently running Win10. Would there be any issue with the digitial license linked to my Microsoft account if I just try installing Win11 fresh on the new build? Or do I need to upgrade to Win11 first so the digital license "upgrades" (if that's a thing), and then do a clean install of Win11 on the new rebuilt system? Or alternately, do a clean install of Win10 on the rebuilt system first and then upgrade to Win11?

 

Win11 upgrade not coming

If you checked again my previous replies, you can see ASUS re-installed my new notebook a even newer Win10 Home installation. After this 2nd time installation, I only did these to the toy:

1. installed chrome
   
2. changed its display brightness
   
3. changed wallpaper
   

After your previous suggestion, the 1 month temp McAfee was gone.

I can't figure out why I can't upgrade to Win11 for such a new notebook. Newer notebook will come with Win11 natively
