10 Crashing Randomly and During Updates and File Downloads

This is a re-post from here.

I have a Windows 10 PC that I run 24/7. I have Windows Updates disabled through the Group Policy Editor. I still perform updates manually every few days. Windows Defender updates work fine. Other Windows updates cause the PC to crash, no BSOD or anything, it just turns off. I've looked for 1074, 6006, and 6008 event log files to explain why and I haven't been able to find anything.

Other times the computer just randomly crashes and also sometimes when downloading files. The symptom is the same, I check on it and find it powered down or it just shuts off while I'm using it. It boots back up fine and I see no cause listed in the event logs.

I have been through the 3 tests suggested to me on the old thread. SMART looked good, memtest ran for 33 hours for 8 passes with no errors, and prime was run for 3 hours with no errors.

I think the next step was to run V2 Log collector, that data is attached.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH ( win32kfull!EditionIsSAS+1197 ) randomly when I move the touchpad after a (certain) amount of sleep

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please reply with the following details to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps:

    • Are you able to boot the computer to Desktop?
    • Are you using a USB mouse or the Touchpad of the computare?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

As per the dump file shared by you, I see that the win32kfull file is causing this issue. It could be due to old version of Windows installed on the computer or a possible memory corruption. I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned
below and see if that helps:

    Method 1: Update Windows

I suggest check for latest Windows Updates on the computer and install them. You can check for updates by going to
Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates.

    Method 2: Update drivers

As you have mentioned that this occurs when you move the mouse, so I suggest you to try updating the Touchpad drivers and check, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + X, and select
      Device Manager.
    2. Expand Mouse.
    3. Right click on the display driver and select
      Update Drivers.

    4. Restart the computer if prompted.

Article for reference: Update drivers in Windows 10.

If you get the message that best drivers are already installed, you can download the Touchpad drivers from

    ASUS E203NA
    .

    Method 3: Run Memory Diagnostic

You can run the Memory Diagnostic tool and check for memory corruption. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

Run memory diagnostic to find any memory corruption issue.

    1. Open Start Menu and type
      Memory
      .
    2. Now click on Windows Memory Diagnostic.
    3. Click on Restart now and check for problems.
    4. Follow the on screen instructions

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.
