  1. Win7 does not show both SSD

Hi, efter having made a disc clone using HDClone, I can¨t see the copy SSD any longer. Why? Does anyone know? I could see it before and I can see it with HDClone and anotherdisc utility, but not in Win7. I could see it before making the clone. The clone process was reported as 100% ok. Has this anything to do with encryption?

    :)

SSD storage keeps filling up on its own

    Hi Ash,

There's a possibility that the files are just hidden. As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps below on how to display hidden files that's eating space of your SSD:

    • On the Search bar, type folder, and then select
Show hidden files and folders from the search results.
    • Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives,
      and then select OK.

Keep us in the loop with the result.

  3. Cannot boot on a Win10 SSD if Win7 SSD is not connected

Long time ago, I had a Windows 7 installation on a 128Gb SSD.

I then upgraded to Windows 10 on a brand new 256Gb SSD.

I kept it as this for a while, but now I need my SATA socket to connect a new HDD.

But if I disconnect my Win7 SSD, the computer won't boot : I get to the UEFI BIOS screen, then I have either a black screen with the white cursor blinking, or the message telling me to insert a bootable drive. This happen if I don't touch the BIOS, but also if I select manually the win10 SSD.

Then, whenever I connect my win7 SSD, the computer will boot normally, whether I connect it by SATA or by USB 3.0 with an external box (which is totally weird to me).

In the BIOS, the boot order is : Win10 SSD only (the Win7 is not even mentionned)

In the partition manager, there are :

    • Disk 1 : Win10 (healthy: exchange file, empty if trouble, main partition) and Unnamed (healthy: recuperation partition)
    • Disk 2 : System reserved (healthy: System, active, main partition) ans Win7 (healthy: main partition)

How can I get rid of my win 7 SSD ?

(If you can explain what's going on this would be very interesting !)

How to Clone 'dual boot' Win7/Win10 HDD to new SSD

    Hi Jackos,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to create a system image of Win7/Win10 and apply it to SSD.

To create system image on Windows 10 follow the below steps.

    • Type File history in the search area on the taskbar and select File history.
    • Click on System image backup on the left bottom corner of the Window file history Window.
    • Click on Create System Image on the left panel of the System Image backup windows.
    • Select the driver, where you want to create system Image.
    • Follow on screen instruction.
If you want to perform a dual boot you can refer to the below link and check if it helps:
