Windows 10: Win8.1 product key

Discus and support Win8.1 product key in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Dear MicrosoftI have Mac book Air 13-inch, Mid 2011. Unfortunately, i must use win 8.1.     Dear MicrosoftI have Mac book Air 13-inch, Mid 2011. Unfortunately, i must use win 8.1. But i have not product key, and i dont know how to find it. Please help.Thanks.

    Product Key


    Keys are not required for the upgrade process. Windows 10 has a built-in generic key which it uses to install - it acquires the underlying Win7/Win8 activation during the upgrade process and assigns your device ID as a valid Windows 10 activated device. Subsequent installs will thus activate using your device ID. You will not require a key - should you be prompted, select "skip". Activation is automatic thereafter.

    Win10 updated from Win8 - does clean install loose product key?

    Use this option. With Internet connection, if asked for product key, click on "Skip This Step" or "I don't have a product Key". Windows will be activated automatically.

    @Devilz

    • Did you run Showkey as suggested by alphanumeric in post #23?
    • Have you entered the Win8 product key as identified by Showkey?
    • What type of Win8 license has Showkey identified?
    • When you downloaded the Win8 installation media from Microsoft was it for the exact same type of license as identified by Showkey?
