Windows 10: Window 10 activation

i bought a laptop recently with digital windows 10 licence. the windows product was working for a week, today it suddenly gave an error message that windows product not activated. when I ran a trouble shoot session, it showed the resolution below:


"we found windows 10 home single language digital licence for this device running windows 10 home single language. to activate using this digital licence, select upgrade your edition of windows."


when I click on upgrade windows, it opens a dialog box and some upgrade seems to happen, however after reboot the same issue persists. I have tried this cycle of troubleshoot and upgrade four / five times. however nothing gets resolved. can someone help me.

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
