Why not:-

1. export/make available the fundamental Information about the handled photos as a simple SQLite database. I.e. for each photo: path, name, inherent tagging information e.g. Exif, dog, house,..., user provided tagging information You already have the info in a somewhat complicated SQLite DB file, so why not make it useful!
2. when offering a group of pictures that Photos believes to have a common item for tagging, offer the user the ability to tag a subset of them as say PersonA, and then offer the ability to tag a different subset as PersonB. Currently I have ~96 Contact groups, some where Photo App say 100 pictures of babies belong together, but in reality consist of multiple babies. It should be possible to assign different tags within the photo group.
   
3. where, for whatever reason, Photo App can not handle a folder, then gather these folder names in to a single App page so that we can see them without having to navigate through the Folder structure. I have > 1000 folder in my Photo App.
4. if a folder is awaiting processing then include something to show that, currently I can not tell if Phot App has tried to process the pictures and rejected a folder, or not tried yet. Same goes for the tagging state/process on a fodler.
5. when adding new Folders to Photo App, support Drag and Drop of paths from say Explorer.
6. offer the ability to force Photo to apply facial recognition / tagging to a specific folder/folder-group. CUrrently it is not possible to see if Photos has tried to tag a given folder.

On a slightly different issue: I want to download the English Photo App, but live in Germany. My PC has EN as the language of choice, but will the App Store offer me a EN version, no. Why not.


In general: Photo App: a powerful tool. But unbelievably user unfriendly.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

We suggest that you reset Windows Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type %appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photo_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
• Delete all the contents of the folder.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I suggest you to follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1:
Follow the below steps to update apps from store.

• Open Windows store.
• Click on the sign in icon next to the search option.
• Select the option download & update.
• Click on the check for the updates.

Method 2:
I would recommend you to uninstall the Photo app using Windows PowerShell command and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the Start menu, type Windows PowerShell in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  
  • get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
    

After performing the above steps, install the Photo app from the Windows store.
