Window 10 Pro de-activated itself Refurbished PC

Hello Community, I have just purchased a refurbished desktop from Amazon. The sellers claims that they are a Microsoft Authorized dealer for refurbished computers. When the machine arrived, everything went smooth and Windows was activated. After may be a week or two I have noticed a message on my screen saying ; Activate Windows Go to Settings to activate Windows. In the Activation page in the Settings, I see this....As you can see product key is mostly masked. When I click on Troubleshoot I get following message:It has error code 0xc000022. I have searched online for this code but could not

    MICROSOFT WINDOWS FOR REFURBISHED PCs

I have a refurbished PC that I had to replaced the hard drive in . Will the keys that came with it activate a new install of windows 10 made with the creation tool? The instructions that came with the PC says the key on the license sticker will only work
with Microsoft Windows for Refurbished PCs. The sticker with the key # says Microsoft windows 10 Pro for Refurbished PCs.

I have a concern about windows 10 license and activation.

Maybe the first question to ask would be why does it require Windows 10 Pro? Why is Windows 10 Home not sufficient? If the goal is only to get an SSD into the refurbished laptop, then why not just move the SSD over and, as you suggest, do a clean install of Windows 10 Home?

    1. Create a USB flash drive of Windows 10 using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, I recommend a 16 GB or 32 GB flash drive:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

    2. Create a folder on the flash drive created in step 1 above and export the existing refurbished laptop drivers to that folder:
Backup and Restore Device Drivers in Windows 10

    3. Replace the hard drive in the refurbished laptop with the SSD.

    4. Boot the refurbished laptop from the USB flash drive created in step 1 and perform a clean install of Windows 10 Home.

    5. After Windows 10 Home is installed, re-install drivers from the USB flash drive for any hardware in device manager that is missing drivers.

If you re-install Windows 10 Home, there will be no activation issues - it will activate using the already existing digital license for Windows 10 Home for the refurbished laptop. If you put Windows 10 Pro onto the refurbished laptop - either with a clean install or by moving from another computer, you will have to manually activate it to establish the digital license for Windows 10 Pro for the refurbished laptop.

    Windows 10 Pro Refurbisher Install

It wouldn't surprise me if that applies to MAR's.
I've bought many refurbished computers over the years and the stickers on them that looked like the images that have been posted.

I don't know the requirements for MRR's but that's what you probably have.
Can you contact the refurbisher and get them to activate what you bought from them?
--- I’d like to believe they should be able to tell you over the phone what product key to use to get it activated.

Go back to post #2 and use the ShowKeyPlus link Bree provided.
--- Find out what ShowKeyPlus reports.
--- Instead of trying to change a Windows 10 Pro non-existent product key you might be able to use the Windows 8.1 Pro key if ShowKeyPlus records it. I'm not sure how yet, but at least get the ShowKeyPlus information.
