Windows 10: Window 11 blacked out while running high graphics demand games

When running games with high graphics demands, my computer will sometimes black out with the music stopping. Both the mouse and keyboard become unresponsive and the main fan will continue to run at a high speed for a period of time. Sometimes the computer will automatically restart, while other times it needs to be forcefully shut down by holding down the power button.After a successful automatic restart, an error log related to dwm.exe can be found in the event viewer.OS: Window 11 22h2Graphic Card: RTX 3080CPU: i7-12700kHas anyone encountered a similar problem?I would like to ask how to reso

Windows 10 game DVR has high contrast.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



If you are signed into an Xbox account in Windows 10 you can stop Xbox DVR from running by opening the Xbox app.

I recommend you to follow the methods given below.



Method 1:

• I suggest you to update the graphic drivers of the computer and check if it helps.

  Link, to update the drivers.
  

Method 2:

• Open Settings
  
• Click on Gaming
  
• Click on Game DVR
  
• Under the “Recorded audio,” use
  Audio quality drop-down and select 192kbps
  
• Under “Recorded Video,” select the
  60FPS Option
  
• On “Video quality” select
  High
  

Once you complete the steps, Game DVR will record game in at 60 FPS with up yo 1080p resolution depending on the game.

Demanding games and VR cause black screen after latest Win 10 update


Hello. After the Windows 10 update on the 9th May some of the newer games and also VR (HTC Vive) are causing black screen and the only solution is to hard reset. Details below.

On 9th May the following updates were installed on my system:

• 2017-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4016871)
• 2017-05 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4020821)

Following those updates, some of the more demanding games (Elite: Dangerous, Project Cars) are not working correctly, causing both of my screens to turn black and the whole system freezes (I can tell by mouse cursor not reacting to muse movements). The only solution is to hard reset my PC.

I can generally run those games, but after a few minutes the above happens - always. I can play other, less demanding games without any problems.

The same thing happens in 2D and when I use HTC Vive.

I have all the latest graphic drivers installed (nVidia 382.05) along with GeForce Experience and all the other components of my system are up to date. I am an advanced user.

Does anyone have a similar problem or knows how to fix it?

Black screen printing wingdings with high pitched tone can be due to outdated drivers. This can also be connected to hardware issue. For us to isolate and identify
if this is a hardware or software issue, we suggest to perform the Windows Hardware Troubleshooter.

To access the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, follow the steps provided below:

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.
  
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
  
• This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.
